2024 Reading Challenge: January
Hi again!
I’m back with this to help me stay accountable.
Let’s get into it.
Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know About the People We Don’t Know
I got this book last year, hoping it would be awesome because I genuinely enjoyed Outliers and watched a couple of Masterclass videos on Malcolm Gladwell’s writing course.
I don’t know what he was aiming at with this book; whatever it was, it was a huge miss.
Giving this a 2/5 and wish I had stopped reading it sooner because, honestly, it made little to no sense, and I got nothing out of it. Yes, people are biased, they lie, and we should go with our gut about people sometimes…okay?
It sucks that my first review sounds is a complaint, and after reading this I feel like I need a break from books because this was a struggle because I genuinely thought there was going to be a light at the end of the tunnel with this one.
I’m currently reading Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination by Neal Gabler
I picked this because I watched some parts of this podcast with Airbnb’s CEO, and he recommended it. It’s Disney, so why not?
Well, See you next month and hopefully with a happier review!
